Our web support campaign at www.iron-lore.com began in March 2005 with an Iron Heroes Design Diary from designer Mike Mearls, updated regularly. One of the most popular roleplaying game sites today, montecook.com receives 6 million hits per month (150,000 visits/month) and has a thriving message board community of some 9,000 members.

What is Malhavoc Press?
Malhavoc Press is game designer Monte Cook’s game imprint devoted to the publication of unusual magic, monsters, and evocative game elements that go beyond traditional fantasy. Malhavoc Press products exhibit the mastery of the 3rd Edition rules that only one of its original designers can offer. Most current titles are available to purchase as print editions or in electronic (PDF) format online.

Doesn't Monte Cook work for Wizards of the Coast?
Monte Cook started working professionally in the game industry in 1988. In the employ of Iron Crown Enterprises, he worked on the Rolemaster and Champions games as an editor, developer, and designer. In 1994 Monte came to TSR as a game designer. As a senior game designer with Wizards of the Coast, he codesigned the new edition of Dungeons & Dragons, authored the Dungeon Master’s Guide, and designed the Book of Vile Darkness and the d20 version of Call of Cthulhu. For WizKids Games, he designed the HeroClix system of superhero combat. He left Wizards in 2001 to start Malhavoc Press. For more information, visit his bio page.

How are you guys related to White Wolf?
Malhavoc Press is an imprint of the Sword & Sorcery line of d20 products, which is published by White Wolf. Essentially, Malahvoc Press is a design studio, and White Wolf handles our printing, sales solicitation, and warehousing. You can find us at conventions at White Wolf/Sword & Sorcery booth, too.

Are Malhavoc's authors all former Wizards employees?
Monte writes most of the titles that Malhavoc Press publishes. However, we are fortunate enough to publish titles from some talented writers Monte used to work with at Wizards of the Coast. Bruce R. Cordell is still a senior game designer there. Sean K Reynolds coauthored the Forgotten Realms campaign setting, among other books, but now works for Upper Deck. Both these authors have books on our release schedule, as do Wolfgang Baur and Mike Mearls.

Will my customers want to buy Malhavoc Press products from me when they can get them as PDFs online?
YES! Sales figures for our print products are among the strongest of all d20 publishers. We have found that the majority of our PDF customers (1) don't have access to a good game store, (2) say they wouldn't have bought the print book, or (3) look at the PDF as a preview, then purchase the print product when it becomes available. Offering PDF titles has actually helped our sales, rather than hurt them.

How can I promote Malhavoc Press products in my store?
We encourage you to use the promo materials available at this site, as well as run the Arcana Evolved demo adventure in your store. If you'd like to do something special (have a book signed as a prize, etc.) contact us. We'll do all we can do to help you.

Why can't I ever find Malhavoc Press titles listed alphabetically in distributor publications?
Malhavoc titles are listed under White Wolf Publishing in order forms and other distributor publications.
